Job summary

Chimes International LTD is seeking a Custodian for Monday–Friday evenings to clean and maintain facilities at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC. The role emphasizes adherence to contract specifications and safety procedures while ensuring cleanliness across restrooms, public areas, and workspaces.

The ideal candidate has at least six months of custodial work experience and a High School diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Six months of custodial work experience preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to work Monday–Friday evenings as required by shift.

Responsibilities

• Clean all assigned areas in accordance with contract specifications.
• Disinfect restrooms and washable surfaces in public areas.
• Descale showers, toilet bowls, and urinals to maintain hygiene.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors and maintain clean carpets and rugs.
• Dust surfaces, polish furniture and metal, and clean glass tabletops.
• Move, arrange, and lift heavy items up to 25 lbs regularly.
• Attend required meetings and follow security requirements and procedures.
