Job summary

SBM is seeking a Custodian in San Jose, CA, to maintain cleanliness and sanitation across assigned areas. The role includes performing daily janitorial tasks, operating motorized cleaning equipment, and upholding safety procedures. Training is available, with 3–6 months recommended experience.

The position requires the ability to handle hazardous waste responsibilities, report hazards to supervision, and work with a team. A valid driver's license may be required for site travels.

Qualifications

• No specific education requirement, 3–6 months training or experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties according to the daily schedule.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Follow all safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Present a professional appearance and conduct.
• Understand customer service and satisfaction.
