Job summary

Grand Forks Public Schools seeks a Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and attractive environment at Discovery Elementary School in Grand Forks, ND. The role runs 5:00 pm–9:00 pm, Monday through Friday, about 40 hours weekly, with occasional weekend hours for events.

Base pay is $16.42–$20.31 per hour, plus a $1.00 evening shift differential. Reports to Head or Lead Custodian and requires a high school diploma or GED, ability to lift 60 pounds, and basic cleaning knowledge.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of proper housekeeping, floor care, and maintenance procedures.
• Ability to learn proper equipment operation and new procedures.
• Human relations skills; ability to lift sixty (60) pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform general custodial duties including floor care and general cleaning.
• Perform general grounds maintenance including snow removal and lawn and gardening tasks.
• Assist other building personnel with special activity preparation.
• Acquire general knowledge of building mechanical systems.
• Assist Head/Lead Custodian and district maintenance personnel in operation and repair of mechanical systems including preventive maintenance.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the building principal, custodial supervisor or the head/lead custodian.
