Job summary

SBM is seeking a Custodian in Columbus, OH to maintain cleanliness and sanitation across assigned areas. The role requires performing janitorial duties, using cleaning equipment, and adhering to safety protocols while maintaining a professional standard of conduct.

Responsibilities include following the daily schedule, participating in hazardous waste handling, and communicating effectively with supervisors and teammates.

Qualifications

• No specific education requirement; 3-6 months training or experience preferred.
• May be required to have a valid driver’s license.
• Completed all safety and task training certification.
• Forklift certification may be required.
• Bilingual is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment; safe handling of chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties as assigned.
• Follow daily schedule tasks and ensure areas are clean.
• Handle Hazardous Waste: collection, classification, storage, shipping, labeling, and packaging as needed.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Maintain daily upkeep of the assigned area.
• Report incidents and hazards to supervisor.
• Follow safety rules and procedures.
• Work as part of a team and support shift lead.
