Job summary

SBM Detroit is seeking a Custodian to maintain cleanliness and sanitation across assigned areas. You will perform janitorial tasks, operate cleaning equipment, and follow daily schedules while reporting hazards to supervision.

Qualified candidates may have 3–6 months of experience; bilingual skills are a plus. A valid driver’s license and safety certifications may be required. This is a full-time, evening shift position at SBM’s Detroit location.

Qualifications

• No specific education requirement; 3–6 months training or experience preferred.
• May be required to have a valid driver’s license and completed safety and task training certification; forklift certification may be required.
• Bilingual is a plus; strong reading, verbal and written communication; knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties and follow daily schedules.
• Operate cleaning equipment and maintain assigned areas.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor; follow safety rules and company procedures.
• Work in a team; support shift lead with punch-list items.
