Job summary

Qualifications

• Previous custodial or related experience in institutional settings preferred.
• Ability to learn departmental cleaning procedures and safety practices.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to safely operate custodial equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in offices and sensitive areas.

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned buildings and areas according to departmental standards.
• Perform routine floor care including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and spot cleaning.
• Operate standard custodial equipment safely and effectively.
• Dust furniture, fixtures, ledges, vents, and surfaces.
• Report maintenance issues or safety concerns to the supervisor.
• Assist with deep cleaning, event setup, or breakdown as assigned.
• May respond to inclement weather or campus closures as needed.
