Job summary

Guilford College in Greensboro, NC is seeking a full-time housekeeper to maintain cleanliness of restrooms, classrooms, offices, residence halls, lounges, and common areas across campus. The role requires physical stamina for standing, lifting up to 40 pounds, and working in diverse environments.

You will sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, empty trash, refill supplies, clean windows, report maintenance needs, and assist with event setup and seasonal turnover cleaning while following safety and sanitation

Qualifications

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
• Frequent lifting up to 25–40 pounds.
• Comfortable working in diverse environments (dorms, offices, restrooms, outdoor walkways).
• Follow safety and sanitation guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, classrooms, offices, residence halls, lounges, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors, carpets, and surfaces.
• Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners.
• Refill supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
• Clean windows, mirrors, glass doors, and other surfaces.
• Report maintenance issues to appropriate personnel.
• Perform deep cleaning during academic breaks or as scheduled.
• Maintain cleanliness in dining areas and event spaces before and after functions.
• Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Secure buildings and rooms after cleaning, as necessary.
• Assist with moving furniture or setting up spaces for events, meetings, or campus activities.
• Support special projects such as summer turnover cleaning in residence halls.
