Job summary

University of Kansas is seeking a Custodian to perform routine custodial tasks in a designated campus area. Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, disinfecting restrooms, and general cleaning of offices and classrooms.

The role may involve floor stripping, waxing, polishing, and trash removal. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with opportunities to support other campus facilities as needed.

Responsibilities

• 40% - Office, Classroom and Facilities Maintenance: Vacuum, dust, mop, clean surfaces and dispose of trash in offices and labs.
• 15% - Hallways, Stairways, Elevators, Entrances and Exteriors: Clean floors, dust, wash windows and maintain exterior areas.
• 15% - Floor Maintenance: Stripping, scrubbing and burnishing floors; maintain specialty floors with appropriate equipment.
• 15% - Restroom/Shower Cleaning: Clean and disinfect sinks, toilets, urinals, replace supplies.
• 5% - Supplies, Chemical and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain tools and report equipment issues.
• 5% - Other Related Work: Lock/unlock doors, assist with events, participate in training and safety.
