Job summary

Grand Rapids Community College is seeking a Custodian for the 2nd shift to support multiple college buildings in Grand Rapids, MI. The role includes cleaning, snow removal, and ensuring facilities are opened and secured after hours.

The position requires general maintenance tasks, operation of cleaning equipment, and awareness of safety systems. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 4:00 PM–2:30 AM with benefits available.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a high school degree or GED diploma required.
• Training on the job available with limited to no commercial cleaning experience.
• Commercial cleaning experience in an educational environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean hardwood surfaces, carpeting, upholstery, terrazzo and tile floors.
• Clean restrooms, stairwells, classrooms, offices, etc.
• Open and secure facilities at day end; monitor fire alarms and security systems.
