Job summary

Universal Health Services' Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center is seeking an Intake Clinician on a PRN 3p-11p shift, weekends required. The role involves telephonic and on-site crisis triage, assessments, and disposition planning in an emergency/assessment setting.

Candidates must hold a Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or be a licensed RN, with at least one year of mental health counseling experience.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or nursing with RN licensure.
• Minimum 1 year direct mental health counseling experience.
• Knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses and treatment terminology.

Responsibilities

• Provide telephonic or face-to-face crisis triage, assessment, intervention, and disposition.
• Answer crisis line calls and gather demographic and clinical information.
• Perform clinical dispositions and refer to outpatient care when appropriate.
• Schedule face-to-face assessments within 24 hours for urgent or emergent calls.
• Refer callers to appropriate providers or community resources within the UHS matrix.
