Job summary

MU Health Care is seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. You will prepare and sterilize essential equipment, ensuring patient safety and high standards of care in a fast-paced environment.

Collaboration with colleagues and adherence to procedures will be key to success. Ideal candidates have CRCST or CST certification (or equivalent) and at least one year of sterile processing experience.

Qualifications

• One (1) year of experience as a surgical sterilization tech; CRCST/CST certification or program graduation may substitute for one year of work experience.
• CRCST certification within one year of hire as a condition of continued employment.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, assemble and test instrumentation for proper functioning.
• Assist with teaching of new hires and act as a resource person for other staff.
• Perform decontamination, inspection, cleaning, assembling and packaging of medical/surgical materials.
• Prepare trays and specialty carts; wrap/package items; operate instrument tracking systems.
