Job summary

UHS seeks a Sterile Processing Technician to manage the reprocessing cycle for surgical instruments, operate sterilization equipment, and ensure quality and documentation. The role includes assisting with inventory, instrument rounds, and mentoring new staff in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Candidates must have at least 12 months in sterile processing, CRCST certification, and strong English communication skills to ensure precision and safety in instrument handling.

Qualifications

• Twelve months minimum in Sterile Processing.
• Proficiency with Censis and OneSource software.
• Manual dexterity to assemble/disassemble complex instrumentation.
• Proficient in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Manage the reprocessing cycle for surgical instrumentation (disassembly, decontamination, disinfection, inspection, testing, assembly, packaging, labeling, high level disinfection, sterilization).
• Operate ultrasonic cleaners, washers, sterilizers and related equipment.
• Complete quality monitoring and documentation.
• Prepare case carts by picking supplies and instruments.
• Assist with supply inventory management and clinical instrument rounds.
• Mentor/train new Sterile Processing Technicians.
