Job summary

MU Health Care is seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Trainee to join University Hospital in Columbia, MO. You will clean, decontaminate and test surgical instruments, ensuring safety standards are met and delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

This on-site role offers Monday–Friday nights with rotation to weekends and holidays, a 12-week orientation, and a competitive base pay plus night differential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CRCST certification within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, assemble and test patient care equipment for proper functioning; route cleaned equipment to appropriate holding areas.
• Decontaminate and clean all instrumentation to established standards and procedures.
• Operate washers and cleaners and manually clean instruments as prescribed.
• Prepare case carts and trays for decontamination and load into washers/sterilizers.
• Handle chemicals with appropriate PPE and proper usage.
• Log trays, equipment, and case carts in the system.
