Job summary

Commonwealth of Massachusetts in West Roxbury is seeking a Custodian to ensure court facilities are clean, orderly, and accessible. You will clean offices, bathrooms, remove refuse, mow lawns, and assist with maintenance tasks under the supervision of a Facilities Supervisor.

This is a union position with pay advancing within the salary band per the CBA/MOA. The hours for this position are 3pm-11pm, with 7.5 hour shifts and a $1.00 shift differential where applicable.

Qualifications

• No degree required; three years of related work experience preferred.
• Cleaning methods, supplies, and floor care knowledge.
• Familiarity with KAIVAC/IMOP equipment and cleaning tools.
• Verbal and written communication skills; ability to follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Dust and wet mop floors and clean carpeted areas.
• Strips wax, applies new wax, and buffers floors.
• Clean windows, doors, and walls; wash walls.
• Dust furniture; empty wastebaskets; clean restrooms and replenish supplies.
• Report maintenance needs to supervisor; assist with moving furniture and layout changes.
• Mow lawns and shovel snow; provide coverage for others as needed.
