Job summary

Massachusetts Trial Court in Pittsfield District Court is seeking a Custodian to perform custodial duties across court facilities. The role covers cleaning offices, restrooms, floors, snow removal, and basic maintenance under a Facilities Supervisor.

The position is unionized, entry-level pay starts at $40,575.34 with a max of $59,802.08 and a $1/hour shift differential; work Monday–Friday, 3pm–11pm, with essential personnel considerations.

Qualifications

• No degree requirement.
• Three (3) years of related work experience.
• Must perform custodial duties and operate cleaning equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Dust and mop floors, vacuum carpet areas, and maintain wet floor signs.
• Strip wax, apply fresh wax, and operate a power buffer.
• Clean windows, walls, doors and wash surfaces; sanitize restrooms.
• Mow lawns, shovel snow, and provide coverage for others as needed.
• Report maintenance needs to supervisor and assist with room layout changes.
