Job summary

Commonwealth of Massachusetts is seeking a custodial worker to maintain clean, accessible court facilities across multiple locations. Responsibilities include cleaning offices, bathrooms, floors, and restrooms, and assisting with maintenance tasks as needed.

The role operates 3pm–11pm with a 7.5-hour shift window; union protections apply and the position may move within the salary band per the CBA/MOA with OPEIU Local 6. Occasional regional travel is possible.

Qualifications

• No degree requirement
• Three (3) years of related work experience
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and supplies
• KAIVAC and IMOP equipment
• Ability to meet schedules and deadlines
• Verbal and written communication

Responsibilities

• Dusts and wet mops floors and stairways; operates vacuum to clean carpet areas.
• Strips wax, applies fresh wax, and operates power buffer to polish floors.
• Dusts furniture, empties wastepaper baskets, cleans windows and walls.
• Cleans restrooms and replenishes supplies.
• Mows lawns, shovels snow, and provides coverage for other custodians as needed.
