Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a County Casework Supervisor for an evening assignment with Lycoming Children and Youth, Joinder’s Assessment Services Unit. You will oversee intake, assessment, referral, and case management for short-term and crisis interventions, supervising staff to ensure consistent service delivery.

The role includes coordinating with other supervisors, directing transitions to longer-term services, and engaging with the community through educational programs.

Qualifications

• Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

Responsibilities

• Workflow Oversight: Ensure referrals are prioritized, assessed, investigated, and receive services within required timeframes.
• Casework Management: Assign cases to staff, monitor status, prepare/review documentation, handle complex/crisis/overflow cases.
• Staff Supervision: Provide direct supervision through conferences and meetings; evaluate performance; ensure training needs are met.
• Assignment Coordination: Direct and follow-up to ensure timely transitions to longer-term services and case closure.
• Professional Collaboration: Inform executive staff of significant matters; maintain relationships with other units.
• Engagement Support: Provide public educational programs to promote community awareness and early identification of at-risk families and children.
