Chesterton Manor is seeking a dependable and motivated Evening Cook to join our skilled nursing facility team. This role blends cook and dietary aide duties during the evening shift to deliver high-quality meals and maintain a safe dietary environment for residents. We offer career development opportunities toward ServSafe certification and a CDM track, with training toward CNA.

A high school diploma is required, 18+, and dining services experience preferred. Culinary training optional.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Preferred: One year of dining services experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or healthcare setting.
• Culinary school training preferred, but not required.
• Ability to perform both cook and dietary aide functions as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals in accordance with planned menus and portion control guidelines.
• Plan food production to meet established meal service schedules.
• Follow standard recipes and prescribed special diet orders.
• Ensure proper food presentation, portioning, and plate appearance.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain compliance with all sanitation, safety, and food service regulations.
• Assist with dietary aide duties as needed during scheduled shifts.
