Job summary

Great Western Dining Service at our North Central Texas College location in Gainesville, TX is looking for an Evening Cook to prepare delicious meals and follow instructions in a busy kitchen. The role requires the ability to multitask and maintain high sanitation standards while contributing to memorable dining experiences.

Qualifications

Proven experience as cook.
Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.).
Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment.
Ability to follow all sanitation procedures.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Very good communication skills.

Responsibilities

Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.).
Prepare, portion, cook food items for various meal periods or special events.
Ability to follow basic recipes and production information.
Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served.
Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen.
Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
Follow all company HACCP and safety policies.
