Job summary

Erie County Medical Center Corporation (ECMCC) is seeking a Community Mental Health Tech for the NY HELPS program. The role provides direct nursing care in the CPEP and behavioral health inpatient unit, under RN supervision, with an on-site, full-time evening shift.

The position requires high school graduation, and experience in inpatient or outpatient behavioral health care or CNA work. BLS and safety training expectations apply, with equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with relevant behavioral health care experience or CNA experience.
• Ability to perform personal hygiene tasks and assist with meals and feeding.
• Knowledge of vital signs, patient observation and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene care and assist with daily living activities.
• Assist with nutrition, feeding and dietary tray setup.
• Monitor intake/output and vital signs; report changes to RN.
• Lead patient activity groups and assist mobility as needed.
• Maintain a safe, calm therapeutic environment and follow care plans.
