Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience in in-patient or outpatient behavioral health care, OR
• Two years of experience as a certified nursing assistant, OR
• An equivalent combination of minimum qualifications as defined by the limits of A.) and B.) above.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care to psychiatric patients in the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) and in-patient behavioral health unit.
• Maintains a safe, calm and therapeutic environment under RN supervision.
• Provides personal hygiene care such as showers, bed baths, nail and oral care.
• Assists with feeding, nutrition, and dietary needs of patients.
• Monitors vital signs and reports changes to supervisor.
• Leads activity groups under direct supervision of a RN.
• Transports patients using appropriate equipment.
• Performs ROM and assists with ambulation.
• Monitors stock supplies and notifies supervisor to order replacements.
• Maintains a clean unit environment.
