Job summary

Siemens Energy in Charlotte, NC seeks a Quality Technician to support Gas Turbine Combustion Manufacturing. The role emphasizes metallurgical process knowledge, coating evaluations, and in-process audits.

The incumbent will train others, handle specialty processes, and ensure production quality through precise testing and documentation. The ideal candidate has 2 years QA experience in manufacturing, strong reading of drawings, and proficiency with coating lab equipment.

Qualifications

• 2 years of quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to conduct in-process and final inspection audits and present results to management.
• Experience in coatings industry and thermal spray coatings is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to read drawings, blueprints, process specs and SOPs.
• Willing to learn in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Must be familiar with metallurgical processes to industry standards and practices.
• Perform required tests of Special Process coupons in a timely manner.
• Prepare test samples for microscopic evaluation, focusing on coating assessments.
• Train others on Special Process handling and coating sample preparation for microscopy.
• Use polishers and safety-conscious handling of saws; complete coating evaluations (CrC, TBC, etc.).
• Provide precise documentation of results and support production quality inspections.
