Job summary

Siemens Energy in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Metallurgical Technician to support gas turbine combustion manufacturing. The role emphasizes metallurgical processes, coating evaluations, and QA audits to ensure production quality.

You will train others on Special Process methods, prepare coating test samples for microscopic evaluation, and document results for management. Evening shift; contract position with benefits.

Qualifications

• 2 years of quality assurance experience in a Manufacturing environment.
• 1 year of in-process and final inspection audits.
• Experience in coatings industry is preferred.
• 1 year of thermal spray coatings experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Must be familiar with metallurgical processes to Industry Standards and Practices.
• Must be capable of performing required tests of Special Process test coupons in a timely manner.
• Must be capable of preparing test samples for microscopic evaluation, primarily coating evaluations to support production quality inspections.
• Must be able to train others on Special Process and coating test sample preparation.
• Must be able to use polishers and all saws safely.
• Complete coating evaluations (CrC, TBC, T800, etc.).
• Proficient in image analysis and have working knowledge of micro hardness applications.
• Support Gas Turbine Combustion Manufacturing and collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and managers.
