Job summary

The Dixon Group in Chestertown, MD is seeking a CNC Operator to set up, operate, and fine-tune CNC mills and lathes, turning blueprints into precise metal components. You will read blueprints, inspect parts with calipers and micrometers, and work with diverse teams to improve processes in a fast-paced shop.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
• 2–5 years CNC experience preferred.
• Experience as CNC mill or lathe operator.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment required.
• Able to read blueprints and use QC tools.
• Good shop math skills.
• Reliable, team-oriented, proactive problem-solver.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and fine-tune CNC machines to manufacture precision components.
• Run multi-axis programs for milling, drilling, threading, reaming, and profiling.
• Interpret blueprints and work instructions with accuracy.
• Perform part inspections using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Collaborate with machinists and engineers to improve processes.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment focused on quality.
