Job summary

The Dixon Group in Chestertown, MD is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Technician to operate, troubleshoot, and optimize CNC equipment in a production environment. You will support manufacturing by ensuring parts are produced accurately, efficiently, and to quality standards.

You will monitor machine performance, inspect finished parts, read blueprints, and maintain quality records while adhering to safety procedures. The Dixon Group values veterans and offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of three years of manufacturing experience.
  • Experience operating or troubleshooting CNC machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment including calipers and micrometers.
  • Basic shop mathematics skills (addition, subtraction, fractions, conversions).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining productivity and quality.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor CNC machinery used to mill, punch, drill, broach, and ream components.
  • Troubleshoot machine performance issues and adjust settings to meet production requirements.
  • Identify machining defects, investigate root causes, and take corrective action for quality and efficiency.
  • Perform in-process and final inspections to verify compliance with drawings and specs.
  • Read blueprints and manufacturing documentation.
  • Use calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensional accuracy.
  • Set up machines for production runs, including tooling changes.
  • Monitor production output and maintain production schedules.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records.
  • Follow safety procedures and keep a clean work area.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and engineers to improve processes.
