Job summary

The Medication Assistant (MA) at Good Samaritan NE Albion Estates provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a charge nurse. Knowledge of and delivers age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the resident per plan of care.

Provides assistance with basic health care needs including daily living activities that may include, but are not limited to, bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age 18; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience preferred.
• Annual 12 hours continuing education and department competency testing; maintain required certifications.
• State CMA/CNA certifications required per state (Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota).

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under supervision of a charge nurse.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated; document outcomes and communicate changes.
• Collect non-invasive specimens and vital signs; assist with transfers, range of motion, and mobility.
• Assist with meals, dining, housekeeping and participation in wellness programs.
