Job summary

Newton-Wellesley Hospital is seeking a full-time Clinical Pharmacist for the Evening shift. The role includes interpretation, verification, order entry, compounding, and dispensing for adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients.

You will ensure safe medication use, provide drug information, and participate in pharmacy services development. The ideal candidate holds a PharmD or BS/PharmD with MA licensure, ASHP residency, and BCPS or equivalent certification preferred.

Qualifications

• PharmD or BS/PharmD from an accredited college of pharmacy.
• Massachusetts pharmacy licensure is required.
• 1–4 years of clinical hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• ASHP-accredited residency completed preferred.
• Board certification (e.g., BCPS) preferred.
• Experience with adult, geriatric, and pediatric medication management required.

Responsibilities

• Interpret, verify, enter, and dispense medications for patients.
• Assess orders for dose, route, frequency, and appropriateness.
• Monitor for interactions, adverse effects, and allergies.
• Identify and document medication issues and errors.
• Collaborate in rounds and provide drug information to the care team.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and contribute to programs.
• Assist in inventory control and storage of medications.
• Prepare IV admixtures and extemporaneous meds when needed.
• Maintain licensure and education documentation.
