Job summary

Labcorp, at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA, seeks a Technologist to join a dynamic team. The role supports routine and complex testing with a focus on quality, safety, and patient care. Work schedule is Monday–Friday, 11:30am–8pm with 10% shift differential.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science or MLS, and 1+ year of lab testing experience, with preferred ASCP/AMT certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree.
• ASCP or AMT certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE.
