Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist to join the team at MelroseWakefield Hospital in Melrose, MA. You will perform routine and complex testing, monitor instrumentation, and report results to ensure quality patient care.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a chemical/biological science or MLS; 1+ year of lab experience. ASCP/AMT certification is preferred. Schedule features 8 days on, 6 days off, with evening/night shifts and differential pay.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology; 1 year or more of clinical lab testing experience OR an MLS degree.
  • ASCP or AMT certification is preferred for advancement and expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs.
  • Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
  • Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
  • Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
  • Report accurate and timely test results to support quality patient care.
  • Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
  • Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
  • Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE.

$10,000 sign on bonus (external candidates only) Labcorp is seeking a Technologist to join our team at MelroseWakefield Hospital in Melrose, MA.

Work Schedule: 8 days on, 6 days off, every other weekend. 11pm - 7am, 1 shift from 2:30pm - 11pm Eligible for 15% shift differential on weekdays, 30% on weekends.

Job Responsibilities

  • Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
  • Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures
  • Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
  • Assist with processing of specimens when needed
  • Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience ASCP or AMT certification
Additional Job Standards
  • In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirements
  • Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
  • Experience working in a high volume laboratory environment
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems
  • High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
Benefits

Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan. Pay Range: $30.00 - $46.04 per hour + Shift Differential All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
