Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• 2+ years of clinical lab testing experience or MLS degree.
• FL Medical Technologist (MT) license.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems and computers.
• Strong attention to detail and good communication/organizational skills.
• Able to pass color blindness test and flexible with shifts.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to criteria.
• Perform routine and complex procedures per SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate test results for quality patient care.
• Perform preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as needed.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and PPE.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological science / Clinical Laboratory Science / Medical Technology

MLS degree

FL Medical Technologist (MT) license

ASCP or AMT certification (preferred)
