Job summary

OU Health in Oklahoma City is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform routine diagnostic tests in the clinical laboratory during evening shifts. Under supervision, you will process waived and nonwaived testing, follow safety policies, and maintain accurate, legible records.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure quality results, participate in quality control activities, and support regulatory compliance within OU Health’s comprehensive academic health system.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related science coursework.
• 0-3 years of experience in a clinical or laboratory setting.
• Certification through ASCP, AMT, AABB, NASKL, ASCLS, HHS, ASHI, AAB, ABB, AMS, CRP, EBPH, Military or NILA preferred.
• Ability to perform required laboratory testing and adhere to safety policies.
• Team collaboration and ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Performs waived and nonwaived laboratory testing promptly per policies.
• Records patient demographics and test results in the LIS.
• Maintains PPE and safety procedures in all tasks.
• Participates in quality control, proficiency testing, and performance improvement.
• Operates, calibrates, and maintains laboratory instrumentation.
• Contributes to inventory management and annual competency assessments.
• Notifies appropriate clinical staff of results as required.
