Job summary

OU Health in Oklahoma is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist for the Centralized Receiving & Processing in the Pathology Lab. The role offers an Evening shift with opportunities at Level 1 or Level 2 depending on experience, education, and licenses, and may include sign-on bonus and relocation assistance for those outside a 100‑mile radius.

The ideal candidate holds MLS/MLT certification and has direct experience in centralized receiving and processing in clinical laboratory settings,

Qualifications

• Education: Associate Degree in Medical Lab Technology (MLT) or Bachelor’s with 24 semester hours in MLT or related science including chemistry and biology.
• Experience: 0–3 years for Level 1; 3–5 years for Level 2 in a clinical or laboratory setting.
• License/Certification: Nationally recognized certification (ASCP, AMT, AABB, NASKL, ASCLS, HHS, ASHI, AAB, ABB, AMS, CRP, EBPH, Military or NILA).

Responsibilities

• Performs waived and nonwaived laboratory patient testing per policies.
• Complies with safety policies, PPE, and regulatory standards.
• Performs instrument maintenance, quality control, and documentation.
• Maintains accurate records in the lab informatics system.
• Assesses potential testing problems and takes appropriate action.
• Performs proficiency testing and participates in inventory management.
