Job summary

The Clinical Lab Assistant – Phlebotomist at Elliot Health System's Main Campus is a full-time, second-shift role (1:30 PM–10 PM) requiring strong patient interaction, accurate specimen handling, and teamwork. The position supports a 24/7 lab operation and involves holiday and weekend rotation.

You’ll perform venipuncture, prepare specimens, label samples, enter orders in EPIC, and assist with routine lab tasks to ensure smooth flow of specimens through the departments.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy course or experience preferred.
• ASCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine venipuncture and capillary collection across age groups.
• Verify patient identity and label specimens accurately at collection.
• Enter laboratory orders into EPIC and process specimens for transport.
• Handle customer service tasks and provide test information to patients and staff.
• Maintain sample integrity from collection to storage and manage follow-up tasks.
