Job summary

EMCOR Government Services, Inc. is seeking a Cleaner to perform housekeeping at the DOT Headquarters site in Washington DC. The role operates Monday–Friday, 5pm–11pm, under the SEIU Local 32BJ collective bargaining agreement.

The candidate will clean designated areas, restrooms, and interfaces with supervisors while maintaining safety and quality standards. Prior janitorial experience and ability to work any shift are required.

Qualifications

• Proven working experience as a janitor (1 yr experience).
• Previous experience in facilities maintenance or commercial cleaning preferred.
• Familiarity with SDS.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents in English.
• Must be able to communicate with supervisors and co-workers.
• Must be willing and able to work any day or night shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Clean, stock and supply designated building areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, etc.).
• Dust and wipe down surfaces.
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies.
• Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors.
• Follow proper cleaning procedures and safety guidelines.
• Notify supervisor of any maintenance or repair needs.
• Follow all health and safety regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
