Job summary

Friends University in Wichita, KS seeks a Library Assistant - ILL and Circulation Manager to serve patrons, circulate materials, process interlibrary loan and document delivery requests, and assist in maintaining the library’s collections and spaces.

The role oversees the Circulation Desk in the evenings and Sundays and collaborates with student workers. Requires a 4-year degree; two years library experience preferred; MLS preferred.

Qualifications

• At least two years’ experience in a library setting preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree required; MLS degree preferred.
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication; maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Staffs and manages Circulation desk in evenings and Sundays; assist patrons with resources and devices.
• Coordinate room reservations and Sunday opening/evening closing procedures.
• Hire, supervise, train, and schedule student workers for Circulation Desk.
• Process interlibrary loan and document delivery requests; maintain records and reports.
• Support policy development and act as building captain for security emergencies.
