Skyline Literacy in Harrisonburg, VA is seeking a Work-Study Student Assistant to support the Children’s Program Coordinator in delivering a structured, safe, and engaging environment for children aged 4–12. Qualifications

• Interest in education, child development, social work, or related fields.
• Experience working with children (preferred but not required).
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work evening hours.

• Ability to follow directions and respond appropriately in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with setup and cleanup of the program space each evening
• Support volunteers in facilitating activities such as reading, crafts, and games
• Help supervise children and promote a safe, inclusive, and positive environment
• Assist with sign-in/sign-out procedures to ensure children are released safely
• Help organize and distribute materials for activities
• Support smooth transitions between activities
• Communicate any concerns or incidents to the Coordinator
• Assist with light administrative tasks (attendance tracking, organizing forms)
• Help maintain cleanliness and organization of the program space
