Job summary

Calvary Port St Lucie Inc is seeking a part-time Childcare Assistant to provide a safe, fun, and structured environment for children while parents attend evening classes, small groups, volunteer meetings, and church events. You will care for children from Nursery through 5th grade, implement prepared activities, and help maintain a welcoming, secure space.

Qualifications

• Minimum babysitting or childcare experience preferred.
• Able to engage infants to preteens in a structured setting.
• Pass a comprehensive background check and attend Calvary PSL.
• Evening availability on Tue/Wed/Thu with some weekends.
• Comfort working in a church ministry environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide structured, age-appropriate childcare for Nursery–5th Grade.
• Lead activities and follow the planned curriculum.
• Ensure safety and enforce check-in/check-out policies.
• Manage behaviors to maintain a welcoming classroom.
• Support kids during special events and conferences.
• Assist with setting up and cleaning up rooms nightly.
