Job summary

The Village for Families & Children seeks a compassionate Child Development Specialist for Eagle House, a 24-bed psychiatric residential treatment facility serving youth aged 6-12 in Greater Hartford, CT. You will support trauma-informed treatment plans, supervise daily routines, and facilitate therapeutic activities within a multidisciplinary team.

Evening shift 2:30-11:00 pm. Starting hourly rate $20.50 with differential pay; prior experience in human services and knowledge of child

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Experience in human services or working with children with special needs preferred.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and its impact on child development.

Responsibilities

• Support treatment and educational needs of children with trauma-related challenges.
• Implement therapeutic behavior management strategies.
• Teach and reinforce healthy coping skills aligned with treatment goals.
• Oversee daily routines (hygiene, meals, structure).
• Facilitate and participate in recreational group activities.
• Provide continuous supervision to ensure safety and emotional well-being.
