Job summary

Spectrum 360 A NJ Non Profit Corp. is seeking an Assistant Teacher for a 2:00pm-6:30pm shift in New Jersey. The role supports a small group of children under supervision to ensure safety, growth, and the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Prior child care experience and CPR/First Aid awareness are preferred. Responsibilities include health and safety adherence, group supervision, nap duties, meal assistance, and daily reporting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• Some credits or classes in education or early childhood education a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all health and safety guidelines are strictly adhered to.
• Assist in supervising the group of children to which she/he is assigned during classroom experiences, outdoor activities, and off-center occasions.
• Become involved with the children in group play and outside activities.
• Assist with nap period duties including setting out and replacing cots/mats/cribs and settling children.
• Assist in administration of medication under the direction of the classroom teacher.
• Assume responsibilities of the classroom teacher during her absence, with the director's support.
