Job summary

NHC HealthCare Chattanooga in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a Full-Time Evening Chef to create nutritious and delicious meals for residents in a long-term care setting. You will plan menus, follow therapeutic diets, and deliver meals with care and precision, ensuring quality and consistency in every dish.

Ideal candidates have healthcare food service experience and familiarity with high-touch restaurant operations.

Qualifications

Healthcare food service experience preferred.
High touch restaurant experience required.
Must be 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies; date, label and store items properly; use proper handling techniques.
Review menus, therapeutic menus, recipes, and production sheets; prepare and serve diets properly and attractively with correct portions.
Follow standardized recipes and special diet orders; prepare sufficient quantities to meet service requirements.
Test and taste foods of all consistencies for appearance, flavor, aroma and temperature; adjust as needed.
Time meals/snacks preparation to align with service schedules for patients and customers.
Check trays for accuracy of diets, preferences and quality before delivery; serve on tray line and deliver carts to floors.
