Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health seeks a Pharmacy Technician, Certified, for an hourly role in the Pharmacy department. The technician will perform complex technical, clerical, and medication distribution procedures in accordance with strict standards and regulations, balancing independence with teamwork in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The position requires active NJ Pharmacy Board registration, and PTCB certification is preferred or required within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Must hold active registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the New Jersey Board of Pharmacy.
• PTCB certification preferred or required within 6 months of employment.
• Experience with automated dispensing cabinets (Pyxis) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient-specific medications and floor stock replenishment.
• Operates Pyxis and related dispensing equipment.
• Assists pharmacists and clinical teams with routine operations.
• Maintains inventory and reviews expiration dates.
• Ensures patient safety and accurate drug dosages.
