Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Central Sterile Technician for Saint Joseph Hospital - Elgin. The role encompasses decontamination, preparation, and sterilization of trays, instruments, and equipment, with responsibility for inventory and charge card batching.

Required are a high school diploma (or equivalent), at least two years of CST experience, BLS certification, and preferred Central Supply certification. Evening shifts and part-time status apply with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires.
• At least two years experience as a Central Sterile Technician in an acute care setting preferred.
• Central Supply Certified certification preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination, preparation, and sterilization of Central Sterile trays, instruments and equipment.
• Inventory management and restocking of supplies; data entry and patient charge card batching.
• Demonstrates knowledge of all department locations within the facility and access to all departments.
• Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, and maintains awareness of patient supplies and equipment.
