Job summary

Hutchinson Community College in Newton, KS, seeks a part-time evening staff member to support the Newton Center and Early College initiatives. The role requires customer service excellence, classroom support via Zoom, and event coordination while maintaining daily operations at the Newton Campus Store.

The position emphasizes professional communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a student-centered environment, with hours 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Practice customer service, maintain confidentiality, and work independently in a student-centered environment.
• Work as a member of a team to support the Newton Center.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills required.
• Professional phone and receptionist skills are required.
• Excellent keyboarding skills and experience with MS Office required.
• Establish and maintain effective professional relationships with a diverse population.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality customer service and support for students, customers, faculty, and staff.
• Support Newton Center and Early College initiatives, including Zoom, scheduling, and oversight of the Center while classes are in session.
• Process book sales and HutchCC merchandise sales/rentals through the Newton Campus Store and maintain daily business functions.
• Support and assist with Early College initiatives.
• Assist and support HutchCC partners, including Workforce Development, Adult Basic Education, and other partners utilizing the Newton Center.
• Assist with coordinating events, publications, and correspondence through the Newton Center.
• Assist with marketing initiatives including brochures/flyers, bulletin boards, displays, mailings, and social media/website.
• Assist with the faculty evaluation process.
• Arrive on time for work, attend work regularly, and successfully complete the responsibilities of your position.
• Comply with HutchCC policies, procedures, and practices.
• Travel to other HutchCC locations as needed.
