Fair Oaks Estates in Carmichael, CA is hiring a full-time evening Caregiver to support residents with dementia in a memory care setting. You’ll handle dinner routines, personal care, and safe nights, while Med Techs manage medications.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older and authorized to work in the United States.
• Fingerprint clearance through Community Care Licensing before first day.
• Health screening and TB test before first day.
• Valid First Aid card (current).
• Scrubs on the floor with suitable shoes.
• Able to assist residents weighing 100–250 pounds daily.
• Comfortable providing hands-on personal care.
• Reliable transportation to Carmichael and safe return after shift.
• Available to work an evening shift on a four-days-on, two-days-off rotation, including some weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Take a full handoff from the morning shift and pick up where they left off.
• Assist with afternoon and evening personal care including toileting, incontinence care, grooming, oral and denture care, and bedtime dressing.
• Answer call lights within minutes.
• Provide safe transfers and walking support.
• Tray service for dinner and evening snacks; assist meals and feeding as needed.
• Support memory care residents with late-day restlessness and confusion with patience and redirection.
• Escalate to Med Techs or Care Managers if a resident seems unwell or in pain.
• Report changes in weight, mood, falls, skin issues, or not eating.
• Lead or support evening activities (conversation, music, games, walks).
• Welcome and support family visitors, and guide bedtime routines.
• Perform final rounds and safety checks; ensure call systems and walkers are within reach.
• Keep rooms and common areas clean; light housekeeping and laundry.
• Document in Eldermark before end of shift; hand off to overnight shift.
• Respond calmly to falls or behavioral changes per protocol.
