Responsibilities

• Prepares patients charts and ensures forms and information are ready for use.
• Assembles charts for admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Uses computer systems to process physician orders and patient data.
• Uses bedtracking systems to support timely patient flow.
• Answers phones and transmits messages to unit staff.
• Maintains patient confidentiality per HIPAA and Lahey policies.
• Inspects and inventories unit supplies and reorders as needed.
• Stores supplies and keeps areas neat and organized.
• Follows procedures for access to non-controlled medications (e.g., IV solutions, vaccines).
