Job summary

University of Utah is seeking a part-time UU Student - Labor in the Campus Union area. The Student Custodian Work Study role supports cleaning, setup for events, and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for staff and visitors. Evening shift, about 19 hours per week, with flexibility around 5–10 pm; pay rate is $15.00 per hour.

Open to U of U students eligible for work-study; close date 11/06/2026. Candidates may perform routine cleaning, move furniture, and assist with meetings and campus

Qualifications

• Must be a U of U student.
• Must be work-study eligible.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, cleans, mops, scrubs, and dusts floors.
• Cleans toilets and basins, and scrubs walls; dusts, cleans, and vacuums furniture, fixtures doors, and related furnishings using appropriate cleaning supplies.
• Operates and maintains electric floor machines, industrial vacuums, carpet shampooing equipment, and upholstery/shampooing equipment.
• Cleans, refinishes, and maintains a variety of floor coverings.
• Transports custodial supplies and equipment to and from storage and work areas.
• Transports trash and refuse, removes empty boxes, and organizes closets.
• Helps with event setups and teardowns by placing chairs, tables, and other equipment throughout the Union Building.
• Other duties as assigned.
