LifeSouth Community Blood Centers, Inc. is seeking a Components Lab Technician in Dunwoody, GA. The role focuses on safe handling and processing of blood components for transfusion in a regulated lab environment.

Evening hours are required, with rotating weekends and holidays. The position offers full-time employment with a competitive starting pay and comprehensive benefits. Prior lab experience is preferred but not required for entry-level candidates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license; must meet LifeSouth requirements.
• Evening, rotating weekends and holidays availability.
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Good manual dexterity and ability to operate equipment.
• Effective oral and written communication.
• Ability to follow written, oral, diagram or schedule instructions.
• Basic math including proportions and percentages.
• Frequent standing, lifting up to 50 pounds; occasional stooping and overhead lifting.
• Laboratory setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare blood and blood products.
• Conduct lab audits including quarantine, release and disposal based on disease testing results.
• Filter blood to provide leuko-reduced products.
• General maintenance and cleaning of instruments and department.
• Data processing and input.
• Label products and manage quarantine/discard as needed.
