Job summary

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers, Gainesville, FL, is seeking a Components Production Technician to ensure safe handling and processing of blood components in a regulated environment. You will prepare products, conduct audits, and label and quarantine products to support transfusion services.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED and must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. LifeSouth offers PTO and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Ability to do basic math including addition, subtraction, proportions, percentages, scientific notation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare blood and blood products.
• Perform the lab audit process including quarantine, release and disposal based on tests.
• Filter blood to provide leuko-reduced products.
• Perform maintenance and cleaning of instruments and department.
• Data processing and input.
• Label and quarantine/discard products as necessary.
