Job summary

Silver Pines Treatment Center in Mahanoy City, PA is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician for the 2nd shift to support clients and maintain a therapeutic milieu. The role emphasizes collaboration with clinicians, engaging clients in activities, and documenting observations.

You will assist with meals, ADLs, crisis de-escalation, and client education groups while ensuring a safe, supportive environment. Requires a high school diploma and 1+ year mental health experience, plus CPR/First Aid

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1+ year experience working with clients with mental health issues.
• Current CPR and First Aid Certification, or willingness to complete within the first 30 days of employment.
• TB test clearance.
• Willingness to complete BHT and CPI Training courses within 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with clinical team to determine interventions based on client needs.
• Engages clients in milieu and activities throughout the day.
• Prompt clients to complete ADLs and monitor hygiene and meals.
• Conducts client drug screening, pregnancy tests, and breathalyzers as needed.
• Document services and incident/shift notes in a timely, accurate manner.
• Maintain safety procedures and crisis de-escalation as required.
• Transport clients to appointments and support client self-management.
• Assist with admissions and discharge processes as needed.
