Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN or BS in health related field required.
Current RN licensure in New Jersey and BLS certification required.
ANCC Certification in the field of mental health and psychiatric nursing preferred.
Minimum of two years experience in treatment of psychiatric patients, and at least one year experience in a nursing supervisory role.

Responsibilities

Determines optimal staff allocation for the shift per unit.
Coordinates care for patients on the assigned shift and communicates concerns to staff.
Receives handover and reports to oncoming supervisor to ensure continuity.
Acts as administrative authority for smooth unit operation and notifies leadership of urgent issues.
Addresses grievances and coordinates with managers to resolve staff concerns.
Supports survey compliance, quality assurance, and staff development tasks.
