Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN or BS in health related field required.
• Current RN licensure in New Jersey and BLS certification required.
• ANCC Certification in the field of mental health and psychiatric nursing preferred.
• Minimum of two years experience in treatment of psychiatric patients, and at least one year experience in a nursing supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Determines optimal staff allocation for the shift per unit.
• Coordinates care for patients on the assigned shift and communicates concerns to staff.
• Receives handover and reports to oncoming supervisor to ensure continuity.
• Acts as administrative authority for smooth unit operation and notifies leadership of urgent issues.
• Addresses grievances and coordinates with managers to resolve staff concerns.
• Supports survey compliance, quality assurance, and staff development tasks.
